The beautiful, flowing melodic lines of Bach's compositions are exemplified in this selection. The work can be performed either as a quartet, as a trio playing the lower three parts accompanying another instrument, or as a handbell solo with the lower three parts played by a keyboard instrument. The simple, steady quarter note patterns in the lower three parts provide a quiet background for the soaring melody played by the highest part. Suitable for church or secular use.
